Dear Golden Nugget Families,
I am looking forward to my fourth year teaching in the 6 – 9 Golden Nugget Classroom. Prior to joining the team at California Montessori Project, Capitol Campus, I taught 4th/5th grade, 2nd grade and 2nd/3rd grade for 7 years at Brighton Schools in Folsom. I have been in education for the past 20 years and have served as a K – 5th grade Resource Teacher, 1st grade Co-Teacher, Substitute Teacher, tutor and Instructional Assistant in both the public and private sector.
I completed my 6 – 9 Montessori Credential through the Montessori Training Center. I hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, SB 2042 from National University. I have completed Master’s courses in Teaching – Best Practices. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Child Development from California State University, Sacramento and an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Sierra College. I completed Mindfulness Fundamentals and Mindfulness Essentials during the 2016 – 2017 school year. We implement Mindfulness in the Golden Nugget classroom daily.
I am a creative, passionate and caring teacher that is dedicated to providing a safe learning environment that inspires all students to do their personal best, practice a growth mindset and grace and courtesy. In my free time, I enjoy being out in nature and spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy reading, writing and practicing meditation and yoga. I look forward to another great year working with the students and families in the Golden Nugget class.
