Student Garden Committee

The winner of our school wide sunflower seed counting contest is Auggie from the Golden Trout classroom. He came within 30 seeds of guessing the total number of seeds produced by our garden-15,126! Thank you to everyone who voted as well as to the entire student body for counting the seeds.

The Student Garden Committee accomplished a great deal during our first workday this past Wednesday. The six members filled planting trays with potting soil and sewed ten types of veggies and flowers. They tidied our garden shed and thoroughly watered the plants already growing in the beds. Also, they covered the pvc greenhouse frame with a shade cover and filled the compost barrel with lots of dried leaves and grass. Hats off to these hard workers who showed a lot of initiative and creative problem solving! Ms. Beecroft and I can already tell that this is going to be a very productive and fun year together.
